Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Key Responsibilities- Continuously monitor vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and temperature, as well as the patient's level of consciousness during anesthesia recovery.
- Ensure a patent airway and adequate respiratory function, intervening promptly in the event of obstruction or respiratory distress.
- Administer medications such as analgesics, anti-nausea drugs, and fluids to manage post-operative symptoms and maintain patient comfort.
- Assess surgical sites for bleeding or complications, check dressings, and perform comprehensive physical assessments; recognize and respond to adverse reactions to anesthesia or surgery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient condition and care plans.
Required Qualifications- Minimum of 2 years of PACU nursing experience (required).
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience working in an acute care hospital setting.
- Familiarity with a high-volume post-anesthesia care environment.
