Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to a diverse patient population in a 12-bed PACU unit
• Maintain a 2:1 patient ratio, delivering safe and effective recovery-phase monitoring and intervention
• Administer and titrate drips as required by patient condition and physician orders
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, responding appropriately to changes in patient status
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure smooth patient transitions from the PACU
• Comply with holiday scheduling requirements, including working 1–2 winter holidays unless the unit is closed

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) – required
• ACLS certification (AHA) – required
• PALS certification (AHA) – required
• Minimum of 12 months of PACU/post-anesthesia care experience; work history must reflect 24 months of current PACU experience
• Experience in a hospital, medical center, same-day surgery, or outpatient surgery setting
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Current and recent pediatric care experience
• Strong experience reading and measuring telemetry
• Drips and titration experience
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (verified by driver's license)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
• PACU-specific skills checklist completed at time of submission
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers may be considered based on skills and experience)
