Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (8-hour shifts, mix of 06:00–14:30 and 07:30–16:00)
Key Responsibilities
Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care for patients across all age groups, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
Perform medication reconciliation, administer discharge instructions, and obtain operative and procedural consent
Start and maintain IVs and monitor patients throughout the perioperative process
Implement Malignant Hyperthermia Protocol and conduct pain assessment and management
Care for Eye and ENT patients undergoing procedures such as tonsillectomies, adenoids, sinus, and cataract surgeries
Float to other area ambulatory surgery centers as needed on a rare basis
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of PACU nursing experience required
Experience in an ambulatory or outpatient work setting required
Proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs required
Demonstrated skills in pre- and post-operative patient care, including discharge instructions and medication reconciliation
Knowledge and application of Malignant Hyperthermia Protocol and pain assessment and management
Current ALS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience in Pedi PACU, Phase I PACU, and Phase II Recovery settings
Familiarity with ENT, general, and ophthalmology surgical cases including tonsillectomy, cataract extraction, and eye trauma
Proficiency with emergency medications, narcotics and opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
Skills in airway assessment, placement of oral and nasal airways, and management of pediatric patients
