Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative nursing care and patient preparation prior to surgical procedures
• Monitor and manage patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) following surgery
• Assess and respond to changes in patient condition during the pre-op and recovery phases
• Participate in an on-call rotation, including weeknight and weekend call assignments
• Holiday call participation is required

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York or compact eligibility
• Experience in PACU and/or pre-operative nursing
• Ability to work rotating shifts ranging from 6:00 AM to 9:30 PM start times with 12-hour shift durations
• Availability for on-call coverage, including weeknight call (9:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and 24-hour weekend call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM), approximately 3–4 weeknight calls and one 24-hour weekend call per 8-week period
• Willingness to participate in holiday call rotations

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a surgical or perioperative nursing environment
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Familiarity with anesthesia recovery protocols and post-surgical patient monitoring
