Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from general elective, critical, and life-saving surgical procedures
- Monitor and assess patient status in the PACU setting, identifying and responding to changes in condition
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe patient transitions and continuity of care
- Administer medications and interventions as ordered, documenting care accurately in the patient record
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care instructions and discharge planning
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification – American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification – American Heart Association
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a high-volume or acute care surgical environment
- Familiarity with a broad range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, cardiac, and general surgery
