Registered Nurse – PACU

Contract | Days | 5x8 Hours (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to both adult and pediatric patients across a high-volume surgical environment spanning multiple floors and operating rooms
  • Support all major surgical services including endoscopy, interventional radiology, pulmonary lab, and CT/MRI procedural cases
  • Administer and monitor care for patients receiving regional anesthesia and ECT procedures
  • Utilize specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein as needed
  • Float to pediatric PACU as needed to support unit staffing demands
  • Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio and adhere to all unit protocols and emergency staffing expectations
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submittal
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU specialty
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required)
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR
  • Ability to care for patients of all ages including pediatric populations in pre-op and all phases of recovery
  • Willingness to participate in emergency team assignments as directed by unit management
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Background specifically in PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing
  • Experience with regional anesthesia monitoring and post-procedure recovery
  • Familiarity with high-volume, multi-OR surgical environments serving diverse patient populations
