Registered Nurse – PACU

Key Responsibilities- Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to both adult and pediatric surgical patients across a high-volume, multi-floor surgical department
- Support patients undergoing all major surgical services, including endoscopy, interventional radiology, pulmonary lab procedures, and regional anesthesia
- Float to pediatric PACU as needed, caring for patients of all ages in pre-op and recovery settings
- Operate specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein
- Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio and fulfill 2–3 scheduled weekend shifts per contract period
- Participate in emergency team assignments as directed by unit management in the event of an emergency event
Required Qualifications- Active RN license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submittal
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or a related specialty
- Current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required)
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- NURSYS report required and must be current within 4 weeks of submission date
- Must meet travel compliance distance requirements (greater than 65 miles from facility)
Preferred Experience / Skills- Background in PACU or Pre/Post-Op nursing strongly preferred
- Experience caring for pediatric surgical populations
- Familiarity with regional anesthesia and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) patient care
