Registered Nurse – PACU

Key Responsibilities- Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to adult and pediatric surgical patients across a high-volume, multi-floor surgical department supporting up to 34 operating rooms
- Support patients undergoing all major surgical services, including endoscopy, interventional radiology, pulmonary lab, cystoscopy, CT/MRI, and ECT procedures
- Administer and monitor care for patients receiving regional anesthesia and manage post-anesthesia recovery at a 1:2 patient ratio
- Float to pediatric PACU as needed, providing age-appropriate care across both pediatric and adult populations
- Operate specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein as required
- Report as assigned by unit management in the event of a declared emergency, which may include remaining on-site until the event passes or serving as part of a relief team
Required Qualifications- Active RN license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or a directly related specialty
- Current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications (AHA-issued certifications required)
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (as verified by address on driver's license)
- Current NURSYS report required with submission (must be dated within 4 weeks of submission date)
Preferred Experience / Skills- Background specifically in PACU or Pre/Post-Op nursing; Critical Care Post-Op experience strongly preferred
- Experience caring for high-acuity pediatric surgical patients in a pre-op or recovery setting
- Familiarity with regional anesthesia monitoring and management
