    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – PACU (36-Hour Day/Evening Rotating)

    Newton, MA

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day/Evening Rotating Shifts | 3x 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours total) | Varied start times (days and evenings) | Up to 3 on-call shifts per 6-week schedule

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical or procedural interventions
    • Monitor and assess patient vital signs, airway status, and level of consciousness in the immediate post-operative period
    • Administer medications and interventions as ordered, including pain management and antiemetic therapy
    • Communicate effectively with surgical, anesthesia, and nursing teams to ensure safe patient handoffs and transitions of care
    • Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the medical record
    • Respond to patient changes in condition and initiate appropriate emergency protocols as needed
    Required Qualifications
    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Massachusetts or compact state eligibility
    • Current BLS certification (AHA)
    • ACLS certification required
    • Prior PACU or post-anesthesia care nursing experience
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with a diverse surgical patient population across multiple specialties
    • Familiarity with Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery protocols
    • CPAN certification preferred
