Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Onsite | Expected 36–40 hours/week; overtime may be available after 40 hours

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute professional and clinical nursing knowledge and skills as a member of the interdisciplinary care team in the PACU setting
• Manage and monitor post-anesthesia patients at a 1:2 patient ratio
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical records system to document and manage patient care
• Serve as a resource in the ICU as needed; travelers will not take ICU patients independently but may be asked to float to ICU in a resource capacity
• May be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Active Iowa RN license or compact nursing license (must reflect Active status)
• Active BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or U.S. Military certificates also accepted)
• Active ACLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or U.S. Military certificates also accepted)
• Active PALS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or U.S. Military certificates also accepted)
• Valid driver's license required
• Completed PACU-specific skills checklist required
• One supervisory reference form completed within the last two years required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver's license address)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC EMR
• ICU cross-training or familiarity with ICU patient care
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
