Travel Nurse RN - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op in Winchester, VA

Contract | 13+ Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (9:00 AM – 9:30 PM) | 3x12-hour shifts | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting, managing patients ranging from pediatric (6 months) to geriatric populations
• Deliver Pre-Op and Post-Op nursing care in accordance with unit protocols and facility standards
• Maintain a 2:1 patient ratio within a 16-bed unit
• Document all patient care accurately using Epic EMR (required)
• Float to sister units as needed to support staffing; may be reassigned to on-campus surgery center as case volume shifts
• Fulfill weekend requirements (one weekend per schedule, Saturday/Sunday) and holiday on-call obligations as needed (second call)

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Minimum 2+ years of Pre-Op, Post-Op, and PACU RN experience
• ACLS certification (AHA only) required
• BLS certification (AHA only) required
• PALS certification (AHA only) required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR is required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience titrating drips
• Cardiac nursing experience
• Multi-specialty clinical background
