Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Day Shift | 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM | 36 Hours Guaranteed Per Week | 26-Week Assignment | Projected Start: August 24, 2026
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) serving patients ranging from pediatric (6 months) to geriatric populations
Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care within a 2:1 patient ratio environment
Titrate drips and support a variety of case types ranging from cardiac procedures (including TAVR) to general procedural cases
Document all patient care accurately using Epic EMR
Float to sister units as needed to support staffing across the on-campus surgery center as case volume shifts
Fulfill on-call obligations including second call one weekend per month (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and two weekend shifts per month (Saturday/Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2+ years of RN experience in Pre-Op, Post-Op, and PACU settings
Active Virginia State RN License or valid Compact License
Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association only)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Proficiency with Epic EMR (required)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience titrating drips in a post-anesthesia or critical care environment
Familiarity with TAVR and cardiac procedural cases
Comfort working across a broad spectrum of case types from procedural to cardiac
