• Position: Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Midlothian, Virginia 23114
• Type: Travel nursing assignment
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; every other weekend and major holidays required
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call: Up to 2 shifts per 6 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Unit Focus: Mother/Baby, Postpartum, Couplet Care

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state eligibility
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Postpartum, obstetric, emergency, or critical care experience preferred
• BLS required before direct patient care
• NRP required within 3 months of hire; preferred at time of hire
• STABLE certification preferred
• Electronic fetal monitoring knowledge preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate postpartum nursing care and mother-baby support
• Care for couplets and support newborn transition after delivery
• Perform ongoing assessments of mothers and newborns and respond to changes in condition
• Educate patients and families on breastfeeding, newborn care, discharge planning, and follow-up needs
• Assist with electronic fetal monitoring and vaginal exams as needed
• Support stabilization and resuscitation of the mother/fetal dyad when required
• Float to the special care nursery as needed to support grower/feeders without respiratory support
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and ancillary staff to maintain excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and promote a safe, family-centered care environment
