Description:
The RN performs under the direct supervision of the Patient Care Coordinator and is delegated an assignment by the coordinator to achieve quality patient care.
The RN shall implement the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in collaboration with the Patient Care Coordinator as evidenced by documentation in the Patient Care Record.
The RN is responsible for patient care and ultimately accountable to the Patient Care Manager.
Additional job duties may be assigned as needed.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs to provide the care needed.
Demonstrates thorough, concise, and timely documentation, shift reports, and verbal communication.
Communicates pertinent patient information to all healthcare team members.
Maintains clinical skills by staying current in skills, equipment, and certifications including, but not limited to, Infant security system, Baby Friendly Initiative, and Family Centered Care.
Communicates effectively with others in an appropriate and timely manner.
Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, including customer service, safety, and compliance standards.
Interacts effectively and builds respectful relationships with healthcare professionals and other health-related agencies.
Follows the policies in the Employee Handbook.
Must be able to lift, handle, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
The position involves high-risk, fast-paced postpartum care typically in a couplet care model.
Responsibility may include floating to assist in labor and delivery tasks if needed.
