Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS preferred Must-Have: Candidates must possess a critical care skill set for post-cath management. Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Description: This position involves caring for patients with specific cardiac and vascular diseases. Patients may be admitted if they meet the admission criteria and the attending physician deems the level of care appropriate. Nursing assessments are performed every twelve hours, unless ordered otherwise. Vital signs are performed every four hours, unless ordered otherwise. After a physician has provided orders for a patient to transfer to another department, the documentation requirements for that department will apply. The unit contains 31 beds and has a staffing of 63, including a charge nurse, staff nurses, patient care technicians, and a secretary. The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4. The unit is equipped to perform procedures such as EKGs, EKG recognition, pacemaker interrogation, arterial sheath removal/monitoring, and cardiac drip maintenance. The dress code requires royal blue scrubs, with long sleeve, no-print white, blue, or red undershirts permitted. Only uniform-approved jackets may be worn.
