Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,729 per week in Denton, TX

# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Trauma Stepdown – TexasStart Date: September 21, 2026
Location: Denton, Texas

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 25-bed unit, 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio (1:5 maximum), no on-call requirementHighlights:

• Level 2 trauma center with 90% of inpatients admitted through the Emergency Department
• Diverse case mix including trauma surgery, orthopedics, bariatric, vascular, neurosurgery, and cardiac care
• Meditech EMR system with telemetry monitoring and q4 patient assessments
• Collaborative night shift team including charge nurse, 6 RNs, 3 techs working together on 5th floor surgical unit
• Float only to stepdown service lines (Progressive Care Unit/Heart and Vascular Unit)
• Experienced team with 44 FTEs supporting high-acuity stepdown patients

Requirements:

• Active Texas RN license or compact state license
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Trauma and/or orthopedic experience preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills essential
• Travel nursing experience welcomed
