Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent experience License: Active RN License in South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - First-timers accepted Description: Position/Specialty: PCU RN Will work 3x12-hour night shifts. Weekend requirements include every other weekend and holiday rotation. Night staffing ratios are typically 1-3 or 1-4, depending on patient needs. Clinicians may float within their scope to meet facility needs. All candidates must have ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association. Nurses are required to become proficient in peritoneal dialysis within the first 6 months of hire. Candidates should possess skills for managing ports, arterial lines, blood products, and central lines. Candidates will be responsible for patient monitoring, care management, and medications, including cardiac and vasoactive drips. Expectations include the use of rapid response and code teams as needed. The unit cares predominantly for pre- and post-operative transplant patients, specifically those who have received kidney, liver, and pancreas transplants. There is a central monitoring system in place, and some beds are equipped with bedside monitors for closely monitored patients. The unit also has a variety of medical-surgical patients, offering opportunities for ongoing educational advancement in transplant-specific care. This position requires nurses to participate in emergency response teams during specific seasonal periods. All labs and compliance documentation must be completed within specified timeframes prior to the start of the assignment. Travelers must complete all compliance requirements on time and should not have planned time off that affects compliance completion. This role prioritizes candidates who possess an active South Carolina RN license.
