This assignment is for 13 weeks with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. The unit has 36 beds and includes a team of 56 RNs and 21 Patient Care Technicians. On day shift, the staff consists of 1 charge nurse, 9 RNs, and 5 PCTs. On night shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 9 RNs, and 4 PCTs. Patient ratios range from 4:1 to 5:1. The unit utilizes various types of medical equipment and has Meditech as the electronic medical record system. Candidates with prior experience in titrating cardiac medications will be prioritized in the selection process. Typical procedures performed may include occasional paracentesis or thoracentesis. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented. Floating to ICU or Med-Surg may be required. Scrub color for attire is navy blue. No specific weekend or on-call requirements are noted.
