Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care Profession: RN Specialty: RN Registered / Licensed - Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) Experience: Minimum direct patient care experience preferred License: RN - Single State or RN - Multi-state Compact Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Ability to read, write, and speak English. - Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills. - Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies calmly and respectfully. - Excellent time management, analytical skills, and critical thinking skills. Description: The RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported through a shared governance model. The framework for practice is guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by values. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses Critical Care are licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined in the relevant nurse practice acts. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the nursing association. As a member of the patient services team, it is expected that the individual upholds the voice of the patient while supporting service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: They perform the Nursing Process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care. They use analytical and critical thinking skills to ensure that care is individualized. Coordinating care through effective partnerships is necessary for achieving optimal patient outcomes. This role provides relationship-based patient-centered care reflecting an understanding of cultural diversity. They partner with patients and significant others using effective communication methods. Practicing current clinical standards is essential to this role. Teamwork and Collaboration: They coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care. Demonstrating teamwork by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner promotes retention of healthcare team members. They support performance improvement and participate in research and performance improvement initiatives. The individual is involved in shared governance at all system levels. Professional Development and Initiative: Completion of all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education is necessary. Serving as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses helps ensure a qualified workforce. Evidence-Based Practice and Research: They promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. Upholding organizational policies and procedures, they ensure compliance with healthcare standards. Participation in data collection and evidence-based practice activities is vital to this role. Resources and Support: The RN proactively plans for patient care during direct patient interactions. They contribute to developing protocols and procedures in collaboration with healthcare team members. Supporting efficient use of human and material resources is essential. Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all relevant policies and standards.
