Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,801 per week in Tyler, TX

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: 2 years preferred License: State or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Travel experience required Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care for patients in the Intermediate Care Unit. The role requires accessing and managing ports, managing patients on BiPAP/CPAP, and administering blood products. Care of ventilated patients, central line management, and care of chest tubes are essential duties. The RN will be responsible for managing IV insulin protocols and cardiac drips, but titration is not required. Interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias is expected. Isolation precautions and personal protective equipment will be utilized. The nurse will manage patients with varied diagnoses, including those requiring chemotherapy and those with spinal cord injuries. Total joint replacement care and tracheostomy management are also part of the responsibilities. The Registered Nurse will float between similar units as necessary and will be expected to work weekends. Patient ratios are 1:4 on the unit, ensuring manageable workload for quality care. Participation in the rapid response team may be required.
