Description:
Unit Information:
The unit has 29 beds and 9 staff members.
The staff includes a charge nurse and telemetry and step-down nurses on both day and night shifts.
Patient ratios are 4:1 on telemetry and 3:1 on step-down.
The electronic medical record used is Meditech.
Typical hiring profile:
The most recruited skill set includes cardiac experience.
Candidates with EKG training will be preferred.
Typical procedures performed include:
Recovering patients from cardiac procedures like stents, pacemakers, mitral clips, and valve replacements.
Managing cardiac drips and caring for heart failure patients.
Best personality fit is team-oriented with an emphasis on customer service.
Floating may occur to other cardiac units and medical-surgical areas as needed.
Dress code requires scrub colors of galaxy blue, ceil blue, black, and red.
Weekend shifts are required every other weekend.
No on-call shifts are included.
