Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Step Down Unit Duration: 48 hour contract Shift: Not specified Hours per Shift: Not specified Experience: 2 years experience License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: 2 years experience, ACLS, BLS Description: Responsible for providing nursing care to patients with various medical conditions. Patient population includes those with sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, substance abuse issues, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy. Patient ratio is 1 nurse to 4 patients. Utilizes clinical knowledge and skills to assess and monitor patient conditions. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Adheres to policies and protocols to ensure patient safety and quality care. Communicates effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and progress. Maintains accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records. Participates in ongoing education and training to maintain skills and knowledge. Demonstrates ability to respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
