Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,859 per week in Englewood, CO

Job Title: Travel RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year current PCU hospital experience License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale Must-Have: Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of current PCU hospital experience. Candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications. Description: This position is for a travel RN in a progressive care unit. The unit has 30 beds and a staff of 65, including RNs and PCTs. During the day shift, there is 1 charge RN, 5-8 RNs, and 2-4 PCTs. The typical patient ratios are 1:4, with some instances of 1:5. The equipment utilized in the unit includes tele monitors, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, tracheostomy care, BIPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, foleys, pacer wires, IV pumps, and SCD pumps. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Candidates will be preferred if they have skills in chest tube management, removal of chest tubes, pacer wires, and performing 12-lead EKGs. Oxygen management skills up to BIPAP and heated high-flow are valued. Experience with administering medication drips like heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, and ketamine is also preferred. Typical procedures performed in the unit include post-cath care, pre- and post-operative care of cardiac patients, and vascular surgery post-operative care.
