Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,876 per week in Shreveport, LA

Description: This position involves caring for patients with various conditions including respiratory failure, CVA, DKA, sepsis, and post-operative recovery. The nurse will manage patients requiring frequent monitoring and interventions. Patient ratios are typically 1:3-4. Nurses will be responsible for titrating cardiac drips, insulin drips, and managing venous sheaths and central lines. Additional skills required include tracheostomy care, feeding tube management, and processing blood products. Support on the unit includes availability of charge nurses, phlebotomy services, and resource nurses. The hospital employs an electronic medical records system. Equipment includes IV pumps and a medication dispensing system. Float opportunities may be available to adjacent units with different patient ratios. Weekend rotations are required, with a schedule of four days one week followed by three days the next. Time off requests can be made for up to seven days, though specific blackout dates apply.
