Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Experience with titratable gtts, chest tube management, traches, and peritoneal dialysis preferred Description: Candidates must have experience in managing patients with AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, ARF, and post-heart catheterization. The unit may serve as a stroke overflow for CVA/TIA in need of TPA administration. The RN to patient ratio is 1:3, with 1 CNA for every 7 patients. Travelers must pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance prior to arrival. Support on the unit will include coverage from a charge nurse, in-house phlebotomy, and an IV/VAT team available during designated hours. A hospitalist will be available on-site. Charting system will utilize EMR software. The position requires weekend rotation every other week. The schedule will consist of alternating 4 and 3-day workweeks. Holiday work is expected for 2 out of 3 holidays during the contract. Uniform color requirements include pewter scrubs, with specific guidelines for t-shirts and jackets.
