Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,879 per week in Shelby, NC

Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 18 months PCU RN experience License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with tracheostomies, cardiac medication drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care, dressing changes, and management of central lines. Description: The Progressive Care Unit is a 32-bed unit. This unit cares for patients who do not require mechanical ventilation. Common patient diagnoses include CHF, dysrhythmias, chest pain workups, strokes, abdominal illnesses and infections, respiratory illnesses, diabetes, and acute kidney injury/chronic kidney disease. The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4 and may go to 1:5 depending on acuity. LPN ratios are 4:1, with CNAs scheduled for 1:12 on days and 1:16 on nights. Support staff includes charge nurses and unit clerks during the day shift. Phlebotomy is available other than nurse draws. RT services are available 24/7, as well as hospitalist and intensivist services. Telemetry monitoring is provided at the bedside and at the nurses' station. The facility uses the EPIC EMR system. There is a possibility of floating within the region and scope of practice, based on facility needs. Mid-shift floating will be compensated for travel time between facilities. Travelers may need to work every other weekend and are expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off may be approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays.
