Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: State or Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Patient ratio experience of 4 - Charting system experience Description: Shift available: 3x12 hour nights. We are seeking a registered nurse with a minimum of 1 year of experience. The unit is a 24-bed progressive care, stepdown, and telemetry floor. Typical staffing ratios are 1:3 or 1:4. The facility is a comprehensive stroke center and Level II trauma facility. It has the ability to provide complex care to patients undergoing PCI and open-heart surgery. Rounding support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, and more. Common patient diagnoses include heart failure, stroke, sepsis, diabetes, and renal failure. Special procedures performed in the unit include emergent cardioversion and central line placements. Special equipment used includes BIPAP/CPAP and IV pumps. The ideal candidate should be skilled in blood product administration and central line care/management. They should also interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration). Experience in non-invasive airway management and rapid response/code teams is required. Shift scheduling is done in blocks with weekend coverage required.
