Step down/PCU experience required.
License:
Valid state license required prior to assignment.

Must-Have:
Must be comfortable floating to PCU and other Med/Surg/Telemetry units.
Experience in managing patient ratios of 1:4-5 in Step Down and 1:5-6 in Med/Surg.
Description:
This position requires a Registered Nurse with significant experience in the Med/Surg specialty.
The candidate will frequently float to PCU/Step Down and other Med/Surg/Telemetry units.
It is essential for the traveler to be comfortable working in both Med/Surg and Step Down settings.
Patient ratios will be 1:4-5 for Step Down and 1:5-6 for Med/Surg units.
Experience with pediatric patients is not required, and candidates without pediatric experience will not encounter pediatric patients.
Travelers must already possess a valid state license.
Candidates must be willing to work weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays as needed.
Certifications required include BLS, NIHSS, and ACLS.
Skills needed for this role include IV management, hemodynamic monitoring, and central line care.
Travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Daily patient census is approximately 23 patients with care provided across various age groups.
The unit offers interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in fundamental nursing skills and patient care practices.
This position involves working in a high-acuity environment with a focus on patient safety and quality care.
Floating between units will occur, and staff members will rotate according to policies and patient care needs.
Applicants must be willing to adapt to various patient care settings and provide comprehensive nursing services.
