Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: 1. Previous charge experience preferred. 2. Patient ratio experience preferred. 3. Charting experience preferred. Description: Minimum experience required is 1 year. Candidates with charge experience are preferred. Patient population includes adolescents to geriatrics. The unit focuses on neuro/stroke PCU care, respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical patients. Nurses will be required to titrate cardiac drips and manage continuous telemetry monitoring. Assignments will involve PCU level patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 in a unit with 36 beds. The average daily census is 30 patients. Candidates must possess skills in biPap/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, and central line management. Experience with chest tubes, managing neurological patients, and complex medical cases is essential. Knowledge of heparin protocols and high flow nasal cannula is beneficial. Candidates should be capable of interpreting dysrhythmias and managing tracheostomy care. Floating within the facility may be required as needed. Compliance with onboarding tasks is required to start on time. If unable to meet compliance requirements, there may be a delay in start date. Additional patient care support includes physical therapy, IV teams, and respiratory services. Candidate must be fully available to work during major holidays, with expectations to work if assigned to the unit. Non-billable orientation hours will be part of the onboarding process and expected to complete orientation modules. Weekend shifts are part of the schedule expectation. Candidates should be prepared to work weekends and major holidays as scheduled. No block scheduling is available.
