Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required, with at least 1 completed travel assignment. License: Active multi-state or SC license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Critical care experience; previous ICU/IICU experience with a patient acuity ratio of 1:3. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Intermediate Care Unit. Candidates must have prior experience in critical care settings. Clinicians will provide care for adult patients including trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology cases. Patients require monitoring or interventions every 1 to 2 hours. The unit receives direct admissions, transfers from intensive care units, and escalations from rapid response teams. Specialized equipment includes patient repositioners and ceiling lifts. Clinicians must be proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Experience in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring is required. Medication management skills must include the titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. Ventilator experience is necessary. Floating to other units or campuses may be required based on staffing needs. Staff will only float to areas where they are qualified and have documented competencies. Experience with EPIC electronic medical record charting is required. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in care for ventilated patients and those recovering from neurosurgery. This role supports a collaborative interdisciplinary team approach to patient care. Weekend shifts are required; candidates must work 6 weekend shifts every 6-week schedule period. All requests for time off must be submitted with the application. The facility allows for one call-off shift every two weeks. First-time travelers are accepted. Professionals must carry skills in both management of dysrhythmias and patient monitoring in critical care.
