TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Asheville, North Carolina, 28801!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Stepdown or progressive care experience - Telemetry experience - Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications Description: The unit has 40 beds. Staffing consists of 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, 4 Patient Care Technicians, and 1 Unit Secretary on the day shift. The night shift includes 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, and 3 Patient Care Technicians. Patient ratios are typically 1:4 but may stretch to a 1:5 ratio. Patients commonly treated include those with congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, diabetic ketoacidosis, post-cardiac catheterization/stenting, and post-pacer/ICD/ablation. Equipment used includes Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, bladder scanners, and EMR systems such as Cerner. Candidates will be prioritized for relief charge experience and those with experience using prostacyclins. Typical procedures performed on the unit include bedside cardioversion. The ideal candidate will be flexible, possess a positive attitude, be a great team player, and demonstrate compassion. Candidates must be willing to float to all medical-surgical units, stepdown units, and emergency holding areas. Dress code requires all white scrubs or all navy blue scrubs, or a white top with navy blue pants. There is an expectation to work every other weekend. Unit policies and guidelines will be discussed during the hiring process.
