Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Medical ICU experience in a large facility. Comfortable with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management. Critical thinking skills. Flexibility and ability to work well with others. Description: This position will be in a unit with 10 beds for ICU/PCU overflow. The patient ratios are 2:1 for ICU and 4-5:1 for PCU. Staffing on the night shift includes 1 Charge RN and 5 Staff RNs. There are no unit secretaries or patient care technicians available. The unit is equipped with lift equipment, Targeted Temperature Management, ventilators, IV pumps, and more. Documentation is managed through a specific system. Scheduling requires 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend and holiday support. There are no on-call requirements and floating may be necessary. A bedside shift report is mandatory in all areas of the unit. The relief charge nurse will be expected to perform nurse leader rounding. Advanced skills required include ventilator management, critical care pharmacology, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and central line management. Nurses will assist providers with bedside procedures as needed, such as chest tube insertion and intubations.
