Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,002 per week in Bossier City, LA

Job Title: Registered Nurse - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Stroke Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2 years in acute care License: Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: PCU level RN experience NIHSS experience CVL management/placement Foley catheter management Tube feedings via NGT or PEG Arterial lines experience Diabetes management Drip titration experience with Levophed, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Insulin Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start Description: The PCU unit has 6 beds and provides care for patients with CVA and TIA. Patient ratios are RN 1:3 and CNA 1:6. PPE is adequately provided for COVID-19 safety. Travelers must have been separated from permanent staff roles for 1 year if they were previously employed. Charge nurses will take patient assignments depending on staffing needs. There is a VAT team available for PICC/midline placement. A resource nurse is present, along with RT and hospitalist support available 24/7. Charting is done through an EMR system. Weekly scheduling involves rotating weekends every other weekend. Mandatory work rotation includes 4 days one week and 3 days the next week. Time off requests are limited to one weekend and up to 7 days, with conditions. Professionalism is a key requirement, with no cell phone use in patient care areas. Badges must be worn in full view at all times.
