Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit – Colorado

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Englewood, Colorado

Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-hour shifts. Patient ratio typically 1:4, occasionally 1:5. Unit operates 24/7 with dedicated charge RN, 5–8 staff RNs, and 2–4 patient care technicians per shift.

Highlights:

• High-acuity, fast-paced environment with complex cardiovascular and post-surgical patient populations
• EMR system: Meditech
• Advanced equipment including telemetry, transport monitors, feeding pumps, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, and pacer management
• Procedures include post-catheterization care (right and left heart caths, TAVRs, ablations, Watchman devices, pacemaker implantations), post-thoracic surgery care (VATs/RATs, resections, lobectomies), and pre/post-operative care for open-heart surgical patients (CABGs, valve replacements, aortic dissection repairs)
• Collaborative team of 65+ experienced RNs and PCTs with strong communication and teamwork culture

Requirements:

• Active Colorado RN license or ability to obtain
• Minimum 1 year of recent, acute-care Progressive Care Unit (PCU) hospital experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Preferred: Experience with chest tube management and removal, pacer wire removal, 12-lead EKGs, oxygen management (up to BiPAP and heated high-flow), and cardiac drips (heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, ketamine)
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, adaptability, and team-oriented attitude
