Traveler must have experience with Cardiac Stepdown patients unless otherwise stated.
Description:
The unit features a total of 24-25 beds, depending on the assignment.
There are various patient types including those in Cardiac Stepdown and Medical Stepdown.
Patient assignments may include s/p CABG, lung surgery, PCI, AICD placement, sepsis, respiratory failure, and more.
The patient ratios are approximately 1:3-4.
Travelers will be required to pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance.
Essential skills include titrating cardiac drips, insulin drips, and vasopressors.
Management of drains, tubes, wound care, and central line management is expected.
Experience with managing and removing venous sheaths and temporary pacemakers is preferred.
Support on the unit includes CNAs and unit secretaries during the day shift, with a charge nurse available.
Phlebotomy services are available in-house, along with a respiratory therapy team.
The charting system in use is Meditech Expanse.
Travelers will work a fixed schedule involving a weekend rotation every other weekend.
Requests for time off must not exceed 7 days and specific conditions apply.
Holiday work expectations include working 2 out of 3 major holidays.
The dress code includes specific colors for scrubs and jackets.
