Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,992 per week in Asheville, NC

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: Current RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Stepdown experience Telemetry experience Description: The primary patient population includes cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery. Procedures may involve open heart surgery and thoracic surgery. Patients may also present with medical cardiology diagnoses such as heart failure and sepsis. The unit consists of 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds. Approximately 100 staff members work collaboratively on the unit. There is a charge RN available on both day and night shifts. The patient ratio is 1:5 for RNs and 1:13 for patient care technicians. Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps and CADD epidural pumps. The EMR system used is Cerner. Candidates should possess stepdown and telemetry experience. Preferred candidates will have experience with cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery populations. Typical procedures performed include epidural management and chest tube management. Additional responsibilities may involve managing cardiac medications. The ideal candidate will be a team player who enjoys a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is essential to accommodate the demands of the unit. Weekend and holiday shifts are required. A minimum of 6 weekend shifts is expected within a 6-week scheduling period.
