Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Cardiac Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years of telemetry experience, surgical telemetry experience, vascular management, IV skills. License: Compact license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Must-Have: Must have experience with cardiac PCU, myocardial infarction, pre/post-open heart surgery patients, vascular surgery patients, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement. Experience with chest tubes and sternal precautions is required. Epic experience is a hard stop requirement. Travelers must be flexible to float to like units. Every other weekend commitment is required. Description: The position requires a registered nurse with experience in stepdown cardiac care. Candidates should possess knowledge of managing patients with myocardial infarctions and primary arrhythmias. Experience with vascular surgical patients and pre/post-cath lab interventions is essential. Candidates should be comfortable with blood and blood product administration, breathing treatments, and telemetry monitoring. Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips is necessary. Demonstrated skills in central line care and management are required. Experience with isolation precautions and phlebotomy is preferred. Candidates will be responsible for monitoring patients post-cardiac angiogram and pre/post-cardiac surgery. Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring is a plus. This role will require the nurse to participate in managing and interpreting telemetry data. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment are important. Candidates must commit to working three of the five major holidays. Flexibility in scheduling and floating to other units is expected. References covering recent nursing experience will need to be provided during the compliance process.
