- Must have 2 years of PCU/IMC experience.
- Prefer prior neuro experience.
- Prefer Epic experience.
- Must have experience with cardiac drips, insulin, and ativan.
- Must be comfortable titrating and managing cardiac drips, insulin, ativan, and heparin.
Description:
Travelers are expected to float throughout the assigned zone.
This role involves multiple units covering various specialties including general, cardiac, neuro, oncology, rehab, renal, bariatrics, ortho, trauma, and observation.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3-4, depending on acuity.
Common diagnoses include cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, urology, general surgery, gynecology, and other medical conditions in adults and geriatrics.
Designated Charge Nurses are available on each unit and typically do not take a patient assignment unless necessary.
There are nurse aids available on the unit.
Respiratory therapy equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPap is utilized.
Scheduling is made by leadership for a six-week period.
Travelers are expected to be flexible and assist in filling gaps in permanent scheduling.
Time off requests must be submitted prior to starting the assignment.
Weekend commitment is 6-9 shifts within a six-week schedule.
Holiday rotation may be required.
Units may be assigned via various communication methods.
Cancellation policy allows for cancellation of up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.
Charting is done using the EPIC system.
