The shift is 3x12 hours from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Charting experience using EPIC is required. Weekend coverage could include every other weekend or six weekend shifts over a six-week scheduling block. All requests for time off must be included up front. The facility may call off one shift every two weeks. The nurse must work one holiday within the 13-week contract period. First-time travelers are accepted, but previous travel experience is preferred. Local candidates are permitted. Pending licenses may be accepted under specific conditions. The nurse will manage cardiac monitoring, emergency responses, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management. Responsibilities include IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and line care. The position requires medication administration, including cardiac drips (no titration). Support with respiratory needs such as nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management is part of the role. Experience in neuro PCU is essential, along with knowledge of isolation precautions and telemetry settings. The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5, with a staffing goal of 1:4. The unit specializes in the care of hospital medicine patients, including stroke and neurology patients. IV drips managed include Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, dopaminergic agents, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix, Lidocaine, and Ketamine. Remote telemetry is utilized, with tele sitting implemented to enhance patient care tech coverage. Floating may be required within skillset. The unit includes a diverse team for interdisciplinary support. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics. Daily census averages around 25 patients. Special procedures may include chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and more. The unit employs telemetry, with monitors remaining on-site. Tele sitting has been introduced to maintain adequate patient coverage. The goal is to maintain a patient ratio of 4:1, although a 5:1 ratio may be observed. The team consists of nurses that may float throughout the facility. Compliance documentation is due prior to the start of the contract. Candidates residing within a specific radius may be considered based on certain criteria. Return travelers must meet separation policies that have been set.
