Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of experience required License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Post-operative open heart care experience required - Critical care experience highly preferred - Chest tube and other drain management experience required - Pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access required - Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms required - Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities required - Experience with assisting in procedures and equipment management required - Must float to all units within skill level required Description: The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients during their shift. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN also assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff. This position requires strong communication and critical thinking skills. The RN must demonstrate the ability to manage complex patient care situations effectively. Collaboration with the healthcare team is essential to provide optimal patient care.
