Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Minimum 2 years surgical telemetry experience. - Must have experience with open heart surgery and vascular procedures. - NIHSS certification and telemetry experience required. License: - Compact nursing license required. Certifications: - ACLS - BLS - NIHSS Must-Have: - Epic experience is a hard stop requirement. - Must be flexible to float to similar units as needed. - Available to work every other weekend. Description: This position requires experience caring for patients in a Cardiac PCU setting. Candidates must have a strong telemetry background. Experience with myocardial infarction, primary arrhythmias, and pre/post-operative cardiac patients is necessary. Candidates should be proficient in chest tube care, blood product administration, and defibrillation. Skills in managing cardiac and vasoactive drips are essential. Telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias are required. Experience with post-operative care for open-heart surgery patients is preferred. Applicants should also possess skills in IV management and wound care. Additional experience with chest tubes and sternal precautions is a plus. Strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is necessary to provide comprehensive patient care. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet unit needs.
