Description:
General comments about the unit include its capacity of 25 beds.
The staff consists of 1 Charge RN, 6 RNs, 1 Unit Secretary, and 2-3 Techs on Day Shift.
On Night Shift, the staff includes 1 Charge RN, 6 RNs, and 1 Tech.
Patient ratios are 4:1.
Equipment used includes EKG machines, Hoyer Lifts, and LifePak devices.
The EMR system utilized is Meditech.
Candidates must demonstrate an ability to set priorities and modify patient care as conditions change.
Problem-solving skills and good judgment should be exhibited in practice.
Candidates will be expected to make timely notifications to physicians regarding changes in patient conditions.
Typical procedures performed on the unit include EKGs.
Most cardiac procedures are conducted in the Cath Lab and not on the unit.
Ideal candidates will be team players and possess a positive attitude.
Floating to Med Surg is of low probability.
Dress code is navy scrubs.
Weekend and on-call shifts will occur every third Friday and Saturday from 7 PM to 7 AM, with an additional Friday or Saturday required.
Assistance will be needed on holidays such as Halloween, the Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas night.
