Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of previous Cardiac Telemetry RN experience required License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: First-time travelers accepted; locals not accepted (must be 75+ miles from facility) Description: We care for adult patients with acute cardiac, vascular, and thoracic needs. We care for open heart patients post-op on day one, as well as those with stents, devices, ablations, and chest pain rule outs. We administer antiarrhythmic infusions such as amiodarone and cardizem. We manage patients with heart failure using infusions like lasix, bumetanide, milrinone, and dobutamine. We provide care for patients following vascular and thoracic surgeries. Candidates are expected to manage cardiac drips without titration and interpret dysrhythmias. We require experience in accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, central line care, and nasogastric tube management. Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and rapid response/code team procedures is necessary. We utilize interdisciplinary support, including teams for IV care, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. The expected patient ratio is 1:4. Weekend coverage is necessary.
