Job Title: IMC Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS required Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred, trauma level II experience required Description: This position is for an Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse. The nurse will float between units as needed. Weekends are required, with 6 weekends scheduled per contract. The expected patient ratio is 1:4. Special requirements must be fulfilled, including working 48 hours approved. The facility is a short-term acute care hospital with a total of 379 staffed beds, and it operates as a Level II trauma center. The dress code for licensed nursing personnel is solid navy blue scrubs. No printed tops are allowed, except for designated areas. The daily census for the unit is approximately 30 patients. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The unit provides interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Patient diagnoses in this unit include afib/RVR, NSTEMI, ARF, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, HTN, CHF, closed fractures, and traumatic incidents, among others. Special procedures performed include TAVR, Watchman procedures, angiograms, and cardiac catheterizations. The role involves managing various medical equipment and patient care interventions. The nurse will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring patient vitals, and providing critical care as needed.
