Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,140 per week in Rochester, NY

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year preferred License: Active New York Single State RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: EPIC charting experience is required. Candidates must be willing to float within their skill set. Candidates should be available to work every other weekend and holiday if needed. Candidates must not be within 75 miles of the facility. Description: The position involves providing care in a telemetry and stepdown-level environment. Candidates will be responsible for cardiac monitoring and responding to emergencies. They will be required to interpret and manage dysrhythmias. Experience in using Rapid Response and Code teams is necessary. Candidates will administer oxygen via nasal cannula and manage non-invasive airway support. They will oversee the management of cardiac drips and blood product administration. Central and peripheral line care/management is part of the responsibilities. Candidates should have experience in IV therapy and phlebotomy. Isolation precautions must be adhered to. Patient ratios are 1:4-5, including adults and geriatrics. Common patient diagnoses include long-term pulmonary patients and post-surgical care. Interdisciplinary support will be available from various teams including physical therapy and respiratory services.
