Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred; 3 years preferred for charge experience. License: Active state RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI Must-Have: - Previous experience in managing patients with cardiac and respiratory diagnoses - Proficiency in charting systems, specifically Epic - Clinical skills in telemetry, managing high flow oxygen and BiPAP - Ability to handle complex procedures such as chest tube management and post-cardiac procedures Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Intermediate Care unit. This position requires a commitment to night shifts, working 3 nights per week. The average daily census will be around 22 patients, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. Candidates must be comfortable managing diverse adult and geriatric populations. Common patient diagnoses include cardiac and respiratory conditions, along with diabetes-related issues. Experience with specific procedures such as intravenous insulin protocols and arterial blood gas interpretation is required. Applicants should be knowledgeable in both pre and post-operative care, particularly post-cardiac catheterization. Flexibility to float to related areas of lower acuity may be required based on staffing needs. Weekend work is mandated every other weekend. Holiday work may also be required as scheduled. This role includes managing various medical equipment and adhering to strict isolation protocols when necessary. Successful candidates will have a strong foundation in critical thinking and clinical skills related to telemetry and managing complex patient situations.
