The shift hours are 3x12s, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Weekend requirements may include every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a six-week scheduling block. All requests for time off must be included with the application. The facility is allowed to call off one shift every two weeks. Candidates must work one holiday during their 13-week contract. First-time travelers are welcome, though previous travel experience is preferred. Local candidates are accepted but should adhere to the specified radius criteria. Required clinical skills include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management. Candidates should be skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care. Medication administration, including cardiac drips (no titration), is required. Experience in respiratory support, isolation precautions, and telemetry settings is necessary. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:5, with a staffing goal of 1:4. The unit specializes in telemetry care and the management of hospitalist medicine patients, including stroke and neurology patients. Candidates will need to be flexible and may be required to float to other areas within their skill set. The environment emphasizes interdisciplinary support from various services. Candidates should possess strong communication and teamwork skills. The unit handles diverse patient diagnoses and requires commitment to high-quality patient care.
