Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,182 per week in Bowling Green, KY

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Cardiac Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous experience in a certified stroke center or stroke unit - Familiarity with current stroke guidelines and performance measures for acute ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes Description: Position/Specialty: Registered Nurse/Advanced Heart Care/Cardiac Stepdown Shifts available: Nights, 3x12 or 4x12 Patient Ratios: 1: 4-5 First-timers not accepted; travel experience required Weekend requirement: Every other weekend, negotiable Certifications required: ACLS, NIHSS, BLS On-call requirement: No Negotiable on accommodating block schedule No travel pairs accepted Unit details: Blended acuity, patient ratio is 1:5-6 A valid RN license is required. Certification in NIHSS must be current, with a certificate on file obtained within the last two years. Experience includes access management for ports and arterial lines, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, and maintenance of central lines. Experience in managing post-myocardial infarction, pre/post cardiac procedures, and renal failure is necessary. Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases is important. Nurse must be familiar with isolation precautions and IV insulin protocols. The role also requires management of telemetry and cardiac drips without titration. Nurse must show competency in stroke signs/symptoms and bedside dysphagia screening. Daily census in the unit is expected to be around 22 patients.
