Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required License: Must have active license to apply Certifications: BLS and NIH required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC experience. Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills. Gastrointestinal Skills: Feeding tube care and management. Renal Skills: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management. IV therapy/Phlebotomy Skills: Accessing Ports and IVs. Medication Skills: Manage Cardiac and Vasoactive drips. Neurological Case Experience: Craniotomy, CVA, Spinal cord injury. Respiratory Skills: Care of Ventilated Patients, Interpretation of ABGs. Description: The position is for an IMC Nurse with responsibilities including caring for patients with a variety of diagnoses. Candidates will float as needed within their scope of practice to meet facility needs. They will take part in managing cardiac monitoring and interpreting dysrhythmias. Experience with handling feeds and tubes, as well as the management of hemodialysis is essential. Skills in IV therapy, including arterial line management and blood product administration, are necessary. Candidates will need to have experience in post-operative care, particularly for cardiac procedures. Knowledge in respiratory care, including the management of patients on ventilators, is required. The unit operates under a fast-paced environment with a high patient throughput. Nurses typically handle a patient load with a ratio of 1:4. Completion of additional training and modules prior to the start is expected.
