Job Title: Registered Nurse - Nursing Vascular Transplant Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 3 x 12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years IMC experience and transplant experience required License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - 2 years of IMC experience - Transplant experience Description: Provides post-operative care for vascular, kidney, and liver transplant patients. Performs hemodynamic and neurovascular assessments. Monitors surgical sites for bleeding or infection. Evaluates graft function. Monitors labs, urine output, fluids, and electrolytes. Administers pain control, immunosuppressants, anticoagulation, and IV therapies. Identifies complications such as thrombosis, graft dysfunction, and rejection. Coordinates post-transplant care with the healthcare team. Offers psychosocial support and education on lifestyle adjustments to patients and families. Recognizes signs and symptoms of transplant complications including infection and rejection. Interprets relevant diagnostic and laboratory data. Teaches medication adherence and post-operative care plans. Understands pharmacology relevant to transplant patients. Implements universal precautions and maintains patient confidentiality. Participates in interdisciplinary support with various healthcare professionals. Monitors patient progress and vital signs, ensuring optimal post-transplant health maintenance. This job requires working every third weekend and potentially floating within specialty areas as needed. Holidays may be required as scheduled.
